Searching for great activities for 4 year olds?
Searching for great activities for 4 year olds? How about activities for 3, 4 and 5 year olds? Are you looking for a fun way to improve your 3,4 or 5 year olds fine motor skills? Maybe a way for them to make some friends and get some exercise? Martial Arts training in our Little Leaders preschool program is a great activity and a lot of fun. We offer Martial Arts training for kids of all ages including older children. However, our Little Leaders program is a great way to get your preschooler involved in a program that is specifically designed for them. This program is specifically designed for 3, 4 and 5 year olds.
The Little Leaders Program
Our Little Leaders Preschool Martial Arts program is designed to meet preschoolers and young children where they are, and to help them build physical, emotional and social proficiencies and meet the appropriate developmental milestones. Ultimately, we want them to be our best-qualified beginners in the Black Belt Leadership program, participate in a fun activity, and to be ready to thrive in life and in school. Martial Arts training is one of the best activities we know of to teach them these important skills
Rolling enrollment means that your child can start Little Leaders at any time, and start working toward goals in four different areas of development:
• Cooperation and Social Skills
• Listening and Language Skills
• Safety and Hygiene
• Coordination, Hand-eye Coordination and Physical Self Control
Each week, we focus on one of these areas, with lesson plans designed to highlight that week’s theme and include new skills to learn. Four weeks later, we will review that same lesson again. If your child misses a class or comes once a week, he will still be exposed to all of the curriculum.
Each class is short and fast-paced to accommodate the attention spans of little kids and their activity levels. Little Leaders take part in twenty-minute classes, and Advanced Little Leaders participate in thirty-minute classes.
Each class contains the same elements, so that the components feel predictable and comforting to young children, who thrive and feel secure in routine and structure.

Here's a look at the schedule for a typical class
A time for parent Information
The first few moments of class will help you see the underlying goals and learning activities we have for that class. During these moments, your child will remain with you or the other family members attending class. The instructor really is explaining to parents, rather than children the different ways we will train for the day.
Students move to set points
The students’ part of class begins once they’re called to their tapes or set points on the training floor. This is one of the sensory activities that let’s our students know that class is beginning and a certain level of behavior is now expected. This is a great time for them to see that they have their own spot and their space is to be respected as well as the space of other students.
Bowing into Class
We use the respectful martial arts bow as a simple way to set the mood for our class.
Section of the Student Oath
We learn one section of the student oath in class each week, and then add a new section each week. This is a simple activity we use to begin working on our memorization skills.
Warm Up
Each week’s warm up will correspond with the physical skills or area of development discussed above.
Martial Arts Skill
The martial arts techniques we’ve chosen are appropriate for Little Leaders and their developmental stages, with the correct level of gross motor skills. For example, we don’t expect our students to come into class able to fearlessly walk on a balance beam or complete an advanced obstacle course. We teach using simple activities to improve your child’s development and move them forward in their martial arts skills For Advanced Little Leaders, we balance increasing focus for gross motor skills, and add small motor details or reaction hands, etc. for additional challenge.
Life Skill Lesson
We spend a few moments on the life skill for the week, depending on the area of development for the week.
Awards and Announcements
This includes a new tape for your child’s belt in each class. This time is also a great opportunity for us to announce special class awards, plus any other announcements about upcoming events at the academy.
